Love photography session, Yarra Valley near Rochford

Posted by bek in Uncategorized | 15 Comments

Toward the end of 2011 I was invited out to a beautiful family owned vineyard, located near Rochford Winery in the Yarra Valley for this photo session.

I’ve got to say, the lead up to this date was a trifle hectic. Christmas was on the horizon, it was nearly the end of school/work for the year and life seemed to be spinning out of control.

Once I turned off the highway though, onto the road leading to this magical place, everything changed. It was a good time to take a deep breath.

Pru and Karl, young but with a love and affection for each other that felt so old and solid. Photographing them took me back a few years, made me remember what our unions are all about.

You know, I’ve often spent ages searching for locations to take my couples and families, for their photo sessions. I’d always be on the hunt for expanses of lush green lawns, cottage gardens and
tame, structured trees. All the while overlooking what was in my backyard. I have a new – brand new – appreciation for our beautiful gum trees. Graceful, old and comfortable. They hug our
landscape so well…and I’d never once used them as a backdrop before (on purpose anyway).

Enough rambling though. Hope you enjoy the photos. This one is dedicated to Karl’s grandfather.
